I used to participate heavily in the16types.info forums discussing Socionics and other personality/typology models and systems. After much militant debate and argument I eventually broke away from my virtual brothers (and sisters) to explore Socionics on my own.

The result was of course Socionics Demystified, a result of over 2.5 years of independent study and bulletin board contributitions.

Having now received (limited) feedback I have decided to begin work writing the second edition to be published by the end of January 2008.

What did I learn?

I realised that with any kind of product life cycle my initial release was very much what “techy types” would consider a beta release, as in read at one’s own risk and not final for general release. It was important for me to publish “as is” regardless to get that all important feedback from willing critics.

I don’t have the time or patience to sift through forum posts related to my book, they should have the guts to give a short or long review either damning or praising on the sales pages on Amazon to make my life easier.

Regardless I’m currently re-writing the first edition and I hope to get some good reviews when I release the new edition next year.

Next (immediate) courses of action:

• Continue my revisions
  • Reduce and remove all complaints of suspected and partial-plagarism, especially my sloppy work with Part Two (I now have plenty of fresh material to re-write from scratch)
  • PROOF READ till I can’t PROOF READ anymore!!
  • Amend the Glossary with new relevant key words
• Add new content
  • “Part 3″ — additional social models unique to my own research and derived from Socionics as the framework for them.
• Further reading
  • Research madeeasypublishing.com for information and any “tools” I can use to get this all done better.

I don’t know why I get drawn back to the site www.plentyoffish.com every “once in a blue moon” to try my luck again for the fun of it. Mostly a waste of my precious time though sometimes a “healthy distraction”.

Anyway, so I was browsing the forums and came to the Testimonials category and thought I’d leave my criticism of POF and on-line dating in general.

Here’s a carbon copy of my forum post:

In my experience of POF, a few things I’ve found in my few years of on-and-off usage:
* A “serious relationship” doesn’t seem to happen unless both are serious and mature in the first place;
* A lot of wasted talent and potential dates get overlooked daily, monthly, yearly because of the “crap” that came before and clogged up “the system” with disgrace and growing prejudices;
* The nicest women I’ve got chatting and onto the phone with have tended to be so “busy” that we never get around to meeting. In other words our “chemistry” can feel so virtual that we don’t have enough REAL chemistry to make time for each other’s potential;
* Women who get nothing but “crap” in their inbox end up overlooking any “gold” that actually found its way in their from a minority of potential talent;
* “the system” gets a little too rigid for me like getting “blown off” just for being two years older than required despite a well written letter of interest;
* too much fun and not enough “serious fun” like actually getting results in a safe and flirty way;
* and my favourite: when will women ever begin to write letters to men more in a virtual world of free play? (Russian women are world-famous for their romantic letter writing to “hook” a guy in!)

This post eventually got removed for unknown reasons. Looks like a) the on-line dating fanatics don’t wish to get criticized and b) have no respect for free-speech in a free-society.

When “the people” start censoring “the people” I get concerned that they seem to end up doing the government’s “dirty work” without even realizing. What sad times we truly live in when one can’t say what they like without some form of disclaimer.

Lastly it also represents to me another form of “political correctness” and then I think to myself: “who ever got truly wealthy and prosperous by conforming to what’s right all-the-time?”. Nobody, that’s how wars begin whether intellectual or thermonuclear even.

The forum is now fully ready to receive your content and discussions. The level of integration is quite remarkable considering that I tried to accomplish a site like this a few years back using the Mambo content management system (now known as Joomla!).

I love the simpilicity of the syntax.

The craziness is simply my creative genius let loose that I later refine and craft with a touch of perfectionism and finesse on my new “wiki” site. Thus this weblog represents a glimpse into what’s going on inside my head before I focus my thoughts and create something new of interest.

I’ll probably strip the pages off the top-navigation and change the theme eventually to something more fun and engaging in truer “blog style”.

In the same way WordPress is one of the hidden gems on the net where blogging is concerned so I find that Wikidot is yet another hidden gem this time in the world of Wiki’s.

Most people are accustomed to Wikipedia which uses the MediaWiki platform which has become annoyingly outdated in my opinion although very popular.
